Jake Moody 49ers Practice Return

The San Francisco 49ers are anticipating the return of kicker Jake Moody, who has been sidelined since Week 5 due to a high ankle sprain. This optimism follows the team’s decision to release kicker Anders Carlson from their practice squad on Tuesday.

Moody, who was injured on October 6 while attempting a tackle during a kickoff return against the Arizona Cardinals, has been making steady progress in his recovery. He was spotted back at practice on Monday, which is a promising sign for his potential return in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During Moody’s absence, the 49ers had to bring in other kickers to fill the gap. Initially, Matthew Wright took over, but he later ended up on injured reserve due to shoulder and back injuries. Anders Carlson, who replaced Wright, performed well, making all five of his field goal attempts and three of four extra points. However, his release indicates that the team is confident in Moody’s imminent return.

Moody’s return would be a significant boost for the 49ers, given his impressive start to the season. Before the injury, he converted 13 of 14 field goals and all 12 extra-point attempts, and achieved touchbacks on 23 of his 28 kickoff attempts.

While Moody is cautious about his return, stating he won’t rush back into action, there is a good chance he will be ready for the Week 10 game. This development is also positive news for fantasy football managers who have been relying on Moody’s consistency).
