Demarcus Robinson 49ers Contract Signing

San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco 49ers have secured wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on a two-year, $9.5 million contract, including $6 million fully guaranteed, as confirmed by his agents, Jason and Michael Katz, on Tuesday. Robinson, 30, aims to strengthen the 49ers’ receiving corps as he transitions from the Los Angeles Rams after two successful seasons.

Robinson’s performance in 2024 saw him register career highs with 31 receptions for 505 yards and seven touchdowns, making significant contributions in both the regular season and playoffs. He participated in all 17 regular-season games followed by two playoff appearances, showcasing his reliability on the field.

The former fourth-round draft pick began his NFL journey with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, eventually playing a key role in the team’s offense before moving on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He recorded notable statistics during his time with the Rams, positioning himself as a sought-after free agent amid the ongoing NFL signing period.

Robinson’s journey has not been without challenges; he faced legal troubles in January after being charged with a misdemeanor DUI, stemming from his arrest in November when he was accused of driving over 100 mph on US-101. Despite this setback, his on-field performance has remained commendable, leading to his new contract with the 49ers.

In nine NFL seasons, Robinson has accumulated 250 receptions for 3,013 yards, with a total of 27 touchdowns. His ability to stretch the field, reflected in a 16.3 yards-per-reception average in 2024, highlights his value as a deep threat, which the 49ers are keen to utilize in their offensive schemes.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is expected to incorporate Robinson’s dynamic skill set into the team’s strategy, especially as they look to recover from a disappointing season last year. The 49ers finished the 2024 season with a 6-11 record, and the addition of Robinson is seen as a positive step toward rejuvenating the roster and enhancing offensive capabilities.

As the new league year unfolds and free agency intensifies, Robinson’s signing marks a significant move for the 49ers, who aim to rebuild their team and pursue success in the upcoming season.
