ESPN to Air Eagles vs. Packers Amid YouTube TV Dispute
Green Bay, Wisconsin – ESPN announced it will air tonight’s highly anticipated “Monday Night Football” game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers due to an ongoing dispute with YouTube TV.
This marks the second straight week that YouTube TV subscribers will not have access to the game. The disagreement over carriage fees between YouTube TV and ESPN’s parent company, the Walt Disney Company, has left many viewers without the ability to watch NFL games on the ESPN family of networks.
The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET (5:15 p.m. PT) from Lambeau Field, and will be available on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes. For viewers who have access, the game can also be streamed on services like NFL+ and ESPN Unlimited.
Philadelphia enters the game with a record of 6-2, aiming for a third consecutive win while trying to stay competitive with the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams atop the NFC standings. The Packers, holding a record of 5-2-1, are looking to recover from their recent 16-13 defeat against the Carolina Panthers.
YouTube TV, which has approximately 10 million subscribers, is facing significant viewer backlash as fans are missing out on crucial college and NFL football broadcasts. Subscribers who do not have cable can still access the game through local ABC broadcasts.
The conflict between Disney and YouTube TV began when their previous agreement ended on October 30. Negotiations have been difficult, primarily focused on the pricing YouTube TV would need to pay for Disney’s channels.
