ESPN Analyst Slips During Drill with Eagles’ DeJean

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Cooper DeJean shared a lighthearted training moment with ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark on Friday, showcasing the spirit of teamwork as the players prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
Clark posted an 11-second video on social media where he and DeJean ran through a dynamic drill. In the clip, Clark acted as a wide receiver while DeJean backpedaled, demonstrating his coverage skills. The lighthearted atmosphere quickly shifted when Clark, while sprinting on the training turf, lost his footing and slipped, creating a fit of laughter in the background.
“I’m a team guy!! So even in my failures I work for the success of others,” Clark humorously remarked. “@cdejean23 was working too hard to get an opportunity to finish the drill. From the ground, I made the pitch & finished through the whistle. T.E.A.M. For real though Ian, check the PEP turf—something reached up and tripped me. Good drill, Coop! Not one of @DB_Precision’s finer moments.” DeJean responded to the incident with a chuckle, commenting, “Still finished through.”
DeJean finished his rookie season with impressive statistics: six passes defended, 51 tackles, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Notably, he allowed a respectable 78.9 quarterback passer rating against him when targeted. His key moment came during the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory, where he recorded his first career interception, returning a pass from Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs 38 yards for a touchdown.
As the Eagles gear up for the next season, DeJean’s performance and humorous camaraderie with teammates and analysts alike underscore the team’s determination and community spirit. Having recently concluded his impressive rookie campaign, DeJean is enthusiastic about the upcoming challenges.
In the lead-up to the NFL Draft on April 24, analysts speculate on the Eagles’ potential strategies. General Manager Howie Roseman is expected to leverage the Eagles’ substantial draft capital of eight picks this year and 12 projected for 2026 to enhance the team’s roster.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated on a recent podcast that he “guarantees” the Eagles will make trades during the draft weekend. “Let me give you one team that I think is going to be bouncing around potentially, either moving up draft boards or trading for a veteran player or two,” Schefter stated, singling out the defending champions as a team to watch.
Roseman has a history of impactful trades, having moved up in previous drafts to select key players who contributed to the team’s Super Bowl success. The Eagles’ efforts in the offseason will shape their performance in the highly anticipated upcoming season.
