Everton Football Club has recently been the subject of speculation linking them with a move for Red Star Belgrade winger, Silas Katompa Mvumpa, ahead of the January transfer window. However, sources from TEAMtalk have clarified that the Merseyside club is not actively pursuing the Congolese player despite these rumors.

Silas, who is currently on loan from VfB Stuttgart, has a reported release clause of approximately €10 million (£8.4 million; $11 million). This financial detail, combined with his recent performances, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Villarreal. However, Everton is not among the teams planning to make an offer when the transfer window reopens.

The Premier League club has been undergoing significant organizational changes, as The Friedkin Group, also owners of AS Roma, is in the process of taking over. This acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of December, which could impact decisions related to club management and player transfers.

Everton’s start to the current Premier League season has been inconsistent, leading to discussions about potential changes in their squad. Under manager Sean Dyche, the team achieved a crucial victory over Crystal Palace, lifting them to 16th on the Premier League table. While there is interest in strengthening the squad, particularly in the wide areas, the club’s current financial strategies remain unchanged until The Friedkin Group finalizes their takeover.

The club had previously strengthened its roster by acquiring Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom on loan, along with the permanent signing of Iliman Ndiaye for £17 million. However, further reinforcements are contingent on the incoming management’s strategic decisions.

Additionally, Everton is keen on retaining key players. Talks are ongoing with striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin to secure his future at the club beyond the current season. With clubs like Newcastle and teams around Europe monitoring his situation, Everton has reportedly offered him a new contract with a significant salary increase.

Among other transfer-related news, Everton has managed to retain Jarrad Branthwaite, despite interest from major clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Real Madrid. TEAMtalk reports that Everton is firm on their valuation of the player and is working towards extending his contract further.

The club also aims to maintain continuity in its goalkeeping department, with no confirmed interest in departing Jordan Pickford, as previously speculated.
