Boxing Match In Riyadh Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The highly anticipated boxing event dubbed “The Fight Card of the Century” is set to take place Saturday at the Kingdom Arena. Headlined by a rematch for the undisputed light heavyweight title between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, this event promises an action-packed evening of elite boxing.

Promoted by Turki Alalshikh, the night features seven bouts, each capable of being a main event on its own. This assembly of fights represents a collaboration among the six major boxing promotions worldwide: Top Rank, Matchroom Sport, Queensberry Promotions, Premier Boxing Champions, Golden Boy, and BOXXER. The event will be broadcast live via DAZN PPV.

In their first matchup last October, Beterbiev narrowly defeated Bivol by majority decision, a result some fans contested due to the closely contested nature of the fight. Both boxers seek a more decisive conclusion this time around, focusing on knockout power with a greater intensity expected in the ring. Beterbiev’s knockout streak was halted last year, but he retains an undefeated record of 21 wins, 20 by knockout.

Bivol, at 23-1 with 12 KOs, is eager to reclaim his position following his first career loss. “I felt I could have done more in the previous fight,” Bivol said. “This time, I will ensure my hands are raised at the end.”

The co-main event features Daniel Dubois defending his IBF heavyweight title against former champion Joseph Parker. Dubois, having recently made headlines with his victory over Anthony Joshua, faces a formidable challenge as Parker aims to dethrone him. Dubois remarked, “I’m not underestimating Parker; I will be ready for any strategy he brings.”

Also highlighted on the card is Shakur Stevenson, who defends his WBC lightweight title against untested challenger Floyd Schofield. Stevenson holds an undefeated record of 22-0, with 10 knockouts. The young Schofield is considered a potential rising star but faces a significant step up in competition. “I want to prove I belong among the elite,” Schofield stated. “Stevenson is my chance to elevate my career.”

The fight card will also feature noteworthy contenders such as Vergil Ortiz Jr. facing Israil Madrimov for the WBC junior middleweight interim title, and Carlos Adames squaring off with Hamzah Sheeraz for the WBC middleweight title. Ortiz, with a record of 22-0 and 21 KOs, expressed his eagerness to keep climbing the ranks, stating, “Every fight is a step closer to my ultimate goal.”

With four of the seven fights rated five stars by BoxRec.com, anticipation levels are high among both fans and fighters alike. This event not only marks a momentous occasion in boxing but also serves to highlight the sport’s revival through unprecedented collaboration among promoters.

As the clock ticks down to fight night, experts predict this could be one of the defining moments in boxing history. With the stakes at an all-time high, fans are urged not to miss what promises to be an unforgettable evening in Riyadh.
