French Open Tennis Tournament 2025

PARIS — The 2025 French Open kicked off on May 25, highlighting fierce competition on both the men’s and women’s sides. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and rising star Jannik Sinner lead the men’s odds, while Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek vie for supremacy among the women.

Alcaraz enters the tournament at +105 odds, reflecting his recent triumph over Sinner in Rome. Meanwhile, Sinner, who missed time earlier this season due to suspension, stands at +220 in the betting odds, suggesting a promising comeback.

“I’m feeling great and ready to compete,” Sinner said in a pre-tournament press conference. “The clay is where I feel most comfortable, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

On the women’s side, Sabalenka’s +230 odds make her the favorite to claim her first Roland Garros title, following her stellar performance in recent tournaments. Swiatek, despite her past dominance in Paris, has seen her odds lengthen to +340 due to inconsistent form earlier in the season.

“I know what it takes to win here,” said Swiatek after her first-round match where she faced tough competition. “I just need to get back in my groove.”

The opening rounds promise thrilling matchups, with fans eagerly anticipating potential clashes between top players. Alcaraz and Sinner, who have been showcased as the next generation of tennis greats, may meet in the finals if they continue their strong performance.

In a surprising twist, US Open semifinalist Jessica Pegula fell to Spain’s Laura Bouzas Maneiro, managing only one game in a rapid match. Bouzas Maneiro will advance to face another competitor in the second round.

“I didn’t expect to dominate like this, but it feels incredible to win my first match here,” said Bouzas Maneiro.

As the tournament progresses, fans will keep a close eye on both the veteran stars and emerging talents looking to make their mark on the clay.
