Nba Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Trends

NEW YORK — As the NBA season enters its 14th week, fantasy basketball managers are reassessing their rosters, leading to a surge in player drops. Key players like Grant Williams, Chris Boucher, and Clint Capela are among the most dropped, according to FantasySP’s waiver trends data.

Grant Williams, a forward for the Dallas Mavericks, was dropped in 4.7% of leagues, reducing his roster percentage to 25%. Despite a recent four-point performance, Williams has shown improvement since returning from injury, averaging 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2 assists over his last eight games. “He’s doing enough to keep rostering him,” said a FantasySP analyst. “If he struggles further, then it might be time to move on.”

Chris Boucher, a Toronto Raptors forward, saw his roster percentage drop to 23% after a 4.1% decline. Boucher, averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds this season, has been inconsistent but remains a viable option in deeper leagues. “He’s producing plenty of late and will likely get scooped up if dropped,” the analyst added.

Clint Capela, the Atlanta Hawks‘ center, experienced a 3.4% drop, bringing his roster percentage to 78%. Capela, averaging 9.5 points and 9 rebounds per game, remains a reliable fantasy asset despite limited minutes. “Capela’s fantasy ceiling is close to his season averages,” the analyst noted. “He’s a consistent player, not a streaky one.”

Other notable drops include Guerschon Yabusele of the Philadelphia 76ers, who fell to 35% ownership, and David Krejci of the Atlanta Hawks, now rostered in just 13% of leagues. Yabusele has been filling in for injured teammates, averaging 34.9 minutes over his last six games, while Krejci has shown flashes of potential with double-digit scoring in four straight games.

As the season progresses, fantasy managers are advised to hold onto underperforming players with consistent roles and monitor waiver wire trends for potential pickups. “Instead of adding and dropping players consistently, try to lock down some permanent fantasy building blocks,” the analyst concluded.
