Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups: Top Targets and Strategies
As the fantasy football season enters Week 10, injuries and bye weeks continue to reshape team rosters, making the waiver wire a crucial resource for managers. Here are some top targets and strategies to consider for this week.
One of the standout running backs to target is Jaylen Warren of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite falling out of favor under Coach Arthur Smith, Warren remains valuable, especially as a receiver, offering more burst and big-play potential compared to Najee Harris. His upcoming schedule is challenging, but his versatility could make him a better bet than Harris in tough matchups.
Another running back worth considering is Ray Davis, who serves as a handcuff option for Dalvin Cook owners. While Ty Johnson had a higher snap count in recent games, Davis’s performance when Cook was out in Week 6 (23 touches) suggests he could be a significant asset if Cook is injured again.
In the wide receiver department, Quentin Johnston and DeMario Douglas are gaining attention. Johnston has been consistent and could benefit from favorable matchups, while Douglas has shown promise with his target share and air-yard metrics.
With the wide receiver position being heavily impacted by injuries, players like Cedric Tillman of the Cleveland Browns are becoming more appealing. Tillman has had significant games since Amari Cooper‘s departure and is now a reliable option for fantasy teams.
Tight ends are also stepping up due to injuries. Mike Gesicki of the Cincinnati Bengals has emerged as a fantasy star with Tee Higgins out, posting impressive numbers including 100 yards and two touchdowns in Week 9. Jonnu Smith of the Miami Dolphins is another tight end to consider, given his strong target share and favorable upcoming matchups.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, now with the New York Jets, is another pickup to consider, especially with Dak Prescott out for multiple weeks. Rodgers’s experience and current form make him a viable option for fantasy teams needing a quarterback.
Taysom Hill of the New Orleans Saints is also gaining traction due to the Saints’ offensive injuries. Hill had his best game of the season recently and is expected to be more involved in the offense moving forward.
Finally, it’s important to keep an eye on players returning from injury, such as Adam Thielen of the Carolina Panthers, who is slated to return in Week 10 and could become the top option in the Panthers’ passing game.
