Fantasy Basketball Players Week 21 Highlights

DENVER, March 10, 2025 — As fantasy basketball heads into Week 21, Nikola Jokić and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander emerge at the forefront of the latest fantasy power rankings. Week 20 showcased a range of high-stakes scenarios, spotlighting the impressive contributions of these players.

Jokić, leading the Denver Nuggets, continues to demonstrate his dominance, finishing last week with an average of 67.4 fantasy points per game (FP/G), maintaining his position as the top-ranked player overall this season. His historic achievement of a 31-point, 21-rebound, 22-assist triple-double against the Phoenix Suns has cemented his status as the league’s standout performer. This milestone marked the first-ever 30-20-20 game in NBA history.

“Nikola Jokić is one of one,” said Nuggets coach Michael Malone. “To achieve a 30, 20, and 20 game underscores what an incredible player he is.”

Following closely is Oklahoma City Thunder‘s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 64.7 FP/G last week and currently ranks fourth overall at 54.4 FP/G for the season. His remarkable three-game performance featured a 51-point game against the Houston Rockets, complemented by another stellar outing where he scored 41 points against the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Every night, I try to contribute and fit in wherever I can,” Gilgeous-Alexander stated. His consistent production emphasizes his potential as a frontrunner for the league MVP title this year.

In third place, Boston CelticsJayson Tatum averaged 61.9 FP/G, performing strongly despite missing one game. With an average of 37.5 points over his two games last week, Tatum’s efficiency was a welcome change, especially after struggling in previous outings.

“Getting back to my rhythm has been crucial, especially with the playoffs approaching,” Tatum noted.

Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers averaged 58.2 FP/G and is poised to see increased opportunities as LeBron James faces a potential multi-week absence due to a groin injury sustained in a game against the Celtics. Dončić displayed his versatility by scoring over 30 points in all three games last week.

Despite the injury concerns, James still managed to average 29.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game, showcasing his enduring capability to perform at a high level.

Looking ahead to Week 21, several players with favorable matchups stand out: Gilgeous-Alexander plays four games against teams with soft defenses, while Dončić will also have chances to build on his momentum.

“This week is pivotal for all teams battling for playoff spots,” said fantasy analyst Juan Carlos Blanco. “Managers should leverage favorable matchups for optimal performance.”

As the fantasy basketball season progresses, the competition tightens, and strategic decisions become critical in determining lineups. With many teams facing critical matchups, the upcoming week promises to be a key moment for both player performance and fantasy standings.
