Father of Elijah McClain Arrested on Multiple Charges in Colorado

Lawayne Mosley, the father of Elijah McClain, was taken into custody in Colorado over the weekend and is now facing several charges. Mosley’s arrest came after state troopers and an Adams County sheriff’s deputy pulled him over on suspicion of driving under the influence near Interstate 70 and Manila Road.

According to Colorado State Patrol, when state troopers attempted to arrest Mosley, he resisted and identified himself as Elijah McClain’s father. During the altercation, Mosley allegedly assaulted one of the troopers and was eventually tased by the Adams County deputy. Both Mosley and the trooper sustained minor injuries.

Following the incident, Mosley cooperated with further investigation and underwent a blood test at the hospital. The results of the test have not been disclosed. Mosley was subsequently booked into the Arapahoe County Jail, where he faces charges including second-degree assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, DUI, careless driving, and possession of a weapon while under the influence.
