Felipe Anderson Helps Lazio Secure Fourth Straight Victory against Lecce
Lazio continued their impressive recent run as Felipe Anderson scored the only goal to secure a 1-0 victory over Lecce in Serie A. It was Lazio’s fourth consecutive win in the league, and they also advanced from the Italian Cup quarterfinal in midweek. Maurizio Sarri’s side moved level on points with fourth-placed Fiorentina, while Bologna was a point behind. AC Milan, in third place, hosted Roma later with visiting coach Jose Mourinho suspended.
Lazio had a slow start to the season, including a 2-1 loss against Lecce on the opening day. They had struggled against Lecce in recent matches, managing only one point from the previous four encounters. However, after a lackluster first half, Lazio finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute. Nicolò Rovella played a through-ball to Luis Alberto, who quickly passed it to Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian midfielder unleashed a powerful shot into the roof of the net.
Lecce had their chances to equalize, but Nikola Krstović missed a golden opportunity in the 67th minute when he headed wide of the right post from just five yards away.
