Felix Auger Aliassime Advances To Second Round At Open 13 Provence

Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime has made a strong start at the Open 13 Provence tournament in Marseille. He defeated French wild-card Quentin Halys with a score of 6-2, 7-5 in the first round. The seventh-seeded Auger-Aliassime showcased his powerful serve, winning 80% of his service points, including an impressive 93% on first serve. Halys, despite firing 10 aces in the match, struggled with accuracy, converting just 56% of his service points.

This victory marked Auger-Aliassime’s eighth win in the Marseille tournament, where he has reached the final twice before. The Canadian player expressed his love for playing well in Marseille and his hopes of reaching another final. Last week, Auger-Aliassime made it to the semifinals in Montpellier, France, before losing to Alexander Bublik.

In the second round, Auger-Aliassime will face Zhang Zhizhen of China, who is ranked 50th in the world. The match promises to be an exciting clash between two talented players. Auger-Aliassime is optimistic about his chances but acknowledges that there is still a lot of tennis to be played.
