Female Referee Leads Officiating Crew for Nigeria vs Guinea-Bissau AFCON Clash
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Morocco‘s Bouchra Karboubi to lead a female refereeing crew for the upcoming AFCON clash between Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau.
Karboubi, an experienced referee, will take charge of the match, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules. This reflects CAF’s commitment to ensuring the final group games are completed without any hitches or controversies.
Scheduled for Monday, January 22, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the match holds significance for Nigeria, as they aim to secure at least a point to advance to the last-16 stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. On the other hand, Guinea-Bissau, having suffered two consecutive losses, will be looking to put up a strong performance in the competition.
Assisting Karboubi in officiating the match will be assistant referees Karin Fomo and Diana Shikutisha, with Jalal Jeed serving as the fourth official. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) responsibilities will be handled by Redouane Jeed and Zakariaa Princy.
