Fenerbahce Beko has announced that point guard Arturs Zagars will be out indefinitely due to a foot injury. The 24-year-old Latvian player suffered the injury during Round 9 of the 2024-25 Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Regular Season in a game against Turk Telekom at Ankara Arena on Sunday.
Despite the injury, Fenerbahce prevailed in the game, improving their record to 8-1 and remaining second in the BSL standings, just one game behind the undefeated Tofas. Zagars played for over 18 minutes, contributing three points, five assists, two rebounds, and one steal before being sidelined.
Medical tests revealed mild damage in his foot, prompting the need for rehabilitation. This setback adds to the team’s current injury list, which includes Devon Hall (left hand surgery), Dyshawn Pierre (right calf), and Scottie Wilbekin (right knee surgery).
Fenerbahce, coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius, is preparing for Round 15 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, where they will face AS Monaco in Ulker Sports Arena on Thursday evening. The team is currently second in the EuroLeague standings with a 10-4 record, trailing leader Paris by one game.
Over 19 appearances in the ongoing continental and domestic seasons, Zagars has averaged 8.0 points, 2.9 assists, 1.3 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest.
