Fia Girls On Track Esports Cup

PARIS, France – The FIA, the global governing body for motorsports, has introduced the FIA Girls on Track Esports Cup, a new competitive sim racing event exclusively for women aged 16 and older. This initiative aims to encourage female participation in competitive gaming and motorsports.

The competition, organized in collaboration with Advanced SimRacing and the popular sim racing platform iRacing, is open to all aspiring female racers, regardless of their prior experience. Interested participants are required to register on the FIA’s official website and possess an active iRacing account.

Online qualifications for the Esports Cup have already begun, with participants competing in the iRacing Time Attack mode to achieve their fastest lap times. Qualifying continues until May 6, 2025, with the top 10 competitors advancing to the finals during the 2025 FIA Extraordinary General Assemblies Week in Macau, set for June.

The eventual winner will be named the first-ever FIA Girls on Track Esports Cup champion. Additionally, the finalists will benefit from exposure to the motorsport industry, including media training workshops and networking opportunities in Macau, which could open doors to careers in motorsport.

Niroshan Pereira, President of the FIA Esports Commission, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “We know that Esports is the future – but for the discipline to truly grow and develop, we need to encourage more girls and women to get involved.”

This marks the first foray into esports for the FIA Girls on Track initiative, which previously focused on supporting female drivers through programs like FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars from 2020 to 2023. The launch of the Esports Cup is part of the FIA’s ongoing commitment to gender equality in motorsports, further underlined by the approval of the FIA Esports Code last year.
