Fields Ranch East Golf Course

FRISCO, TexasFields Ranch East, a new golf course in Frisco, Texas, is set to host the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship from June 19-22. Designed by architect Gil Hanse, the course is built on land that was once a cattle ranch and aims to honor both its history and the game of golf.

Hanse, who prefers to work with the land rather than against it, utilized the course’s natural features while creating the layout. ‘Let the land tell you where the golf holes should go,’ he said. This approach has resulted in a course that feels like it has always been part of the North Texas landscape.

This will be the first women’s major championship held at PGA Frisco, and Hanse emphasizes the challenge it will present. ‘Controlling your ball in the wind will be important. The fairways are wide, so someone who hits it a long way may have an advantage,’ he noted.

The opening hole, a 526-yard par 5, demands precision as players must carry over Panther Creek. The 8th hole, measuring just 171 yards, adds to the challenge as players hit over wetlands to a bluff-side green.

PGA of America Golf Professional Trish Holt, who serves as the Head Professional at Fields Ranch, said the course will test players’ skills. ‘The course will require great ball striking control, with strategically placed tee shots,’ she explained.

With designed tee boxes for players of all skill levels, Fields Ranch East aims to be accessible yet challenging. The course is part of a larger vision for the PGA of America that includes future major championships.

<p'Having the best women golfers compete here is a fantastic opportunity for the local community and for women’s golf as a whole,' Holt added. 'We are excited to see who will take home the title this week.'
