Florida Edge Rusher Jack Pyburn Enters Transfer Portal After Strong Season
Florida edge rusher Jack Pyburn, who has been a standout player for the Gators this season, has decided to enter the transfer portal. Pyburn, a 6-foot-3 junior from Jacksonville, ranks second on the team with 60 tackles, contributing significantly to the Gators’ improved defensive performance towards the end of the season.
His management agency, Addison Sports & Entertainment, confirmed the decision, which was first reported by On3 Sports on Tuesday. Pyburn’s departure follows a trend of several Florida defenders entering the transfer portal in recent days, including defensive linemen Justus Boone and Kelby Collins, cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson, and linebacker Deuce Spurlock.
Despite these losses, the Gators received some positive news this week when defensive tackle Caleb Banks announced that he will return to Florida for his senior season. This decision provides some stability to the team’s defense as they prepare for the Gasparilla Bowl.
