Florida Gators Recruiting Visits

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators are gearing up to welcome a top defensive lineman for an official visit this Friday. Four-star recruit Tyler Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 285-pound player from Northwestern High School, is visiting as part of Florida’s summer recruiting efforts.

“Everything with Florida has been good,” Johnson said in an interview with Swamp247. “It’s been good talking with the coaches.” The Gators hope to enhance their standing with Johnson, who is a key target on their recruiting board.

Florida has been busy this summer, hosting a total of 23 recruits over the last two weekends, including an impressive 16 prospects this past weekend alone. Among those recruits was four-star tight end, Carter Kent from Brunswick, Georgia, who documented his visit through social media.

“Florida is just a good place,” Kent said. “It’s just a cool vibe there. You can chill and go out. If you have homework, you can sit down at different places and do anything.” Kent is being recruited primarily as a tight end and has a commitment date set for July 12.

The Gators have seen substantial momentum lately, rising to 23rd in the On3 recruiting rankings after having just one commitment a month ago. Their recruitment efforts are critical as they aim to finalize their class.

Florida continues to target several offensive and defensive prospects, with commitments expected soon. As the month progresses, the coaching staff remains focused on solidifying their 2026 recruiting class.
