Philadelphia Flyers Vs Ottawa Senators Game

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. — The Philadelphia Flyers are set to face the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a crucial showdown as the regular season winds down.

Under interim coach Brad Shaw, the Flyers have been revitalized, winning five of their last six games since his appointment on March 27. This matchup marks their last regular-season game against an already playoff-bound team, highlighting the significance of every point as the season concludes.

Tyson Foerster has made headlines with his outstanding performance, tallying two goals in Saturday’s game, bringing his total to seven in the last five matchups. Foerster now shares the team lead in goals with 24. “I’m just focusing on getting pucks to the net and making the most of my opportunities,” Foerster said after the game.

The Senators are also experiencing a resurgence, particularly with Shane Pinto, who has rebounded from a stretch of two points in nine games. Pinto has scored four goals and registered one assist in the last five games, including a two-goal performance against Montreal on Friday.

Both teams are dealing with injuries. Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen remains sidelined with an upper-body injury. They could also be without goaltender Samuel Ersson, who made 37 saves in a tight 4-3 shootout victory against the New York Islanders on Saturday. Reports indicate that Aleksei Kolosov might start, marking his second appearance since January 2.

The Senators, on the other hand, will be without forward Brady Tkachuk, who is out due to an upper-body injury. Coach Travis Green stated, “Brady is making progress but is not ready to return yet.”

Forecasts suggest a thrilling contest, as each team is eager to build momentum heading into the playoffs. “This is a big test for us,” Flyers’ captain Sean Couturier said. “We want to show that we can compete against the best.”
