Former AFL player Mitch Robinson has set his sights on NRL stars after an impressive debut in the boxing ring, showcasing his skills on The Gathering.

Robinson, a former Brisbane Lions player at 34, took on ex-Tigers star Kayne Pettifer in a captivating match that ended in his favor on the judges’ scores.

Despite Pettifer’s record of three wins in the ring, Robinson displayed his natural prowess and secured a comfortable victory.

In contrast to his fellow retired footballers Kane Cornes and Dane Swan, who downplayed any return to boxing, Robinson expressed eagerness for future challenges.

Expressing his readiness to face NRL counterparts, Robinson stated, “I don’t know who is in my weight division from the NRL, but AFL versus NRL would make a good spectacle.”

Reflecting on his performance, Robinson remarked, “I would love to take on those boys, I know they’d gas out earlier than us but they pack a punch so we’ll see.”

Robinson’s determination to continue in the boxing arena was evident as he highlighted his willingness to test himself further against NRL opponents.
