Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has officially made his return to the NFL, signing a one-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. After a brief stint with the Los Angeles Rams last season, Wentz has found a new home in Kansas City.

Wentz’s journey back to the league has been eventful, starting as the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He spent five tumultuous seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he experienced both highs and lows before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts.

Despite signing a contract extension with the Eagles, Wentz’s time in Philadelphia came to an end after a series of controversies. He then joined the Colts but faced a late-season collapse in 2021, leading to his eventual release.

In the 2022 season, Wentz briefly took the field as the starting quarterback for the Washington Football Team. However, after a 2-5 record in seven games, he was released ahead of a significant cap hit for the team in 2023.

With his sights set on a fresh start, Wentz showcased his skills with the Rams in the regular-season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. Despite facing challenges, Wentz managed to put up impressive numbers, demonstrating his potential on the field.

Now, at 31 years old, Wentz is gearing up to make an impact with the Chiefs. With over eight seasons of NFL experience under his belt, including impressive stats like 22,292 passing yards, 153 touchdowns, and 67 interceptions, Wentz is poised to contribute to Kansas City’s success in the upcoming season.
