Gavin Hill Florida Gators Tight End Transfer

Former Florida Gators tight end Gavin Hill announced his transfer to Florida A&M University (FAMU) on Friday, bringing his talents to the Rattlers’ 2025 roster. Hill, a 6-foot-3, 246-pound athlete, has three years of eligibility remaining and will join FAMU’s tight end group.

Hill, a consensus four-star prospect out of Buchholz High School in Gainesville, initially joined the Gators’ 2023 recruiting class as a defensive lineman. He chose Florida over offers from Florida State, Auburn, Kentucky, Miami, and others. ESPN ranked him as the 258th-best prospect in his graduating class.

Despite his high school accolades, Hill never saw game action during his two seasons with the Gators. He redshirted his freshman year before transitioning to tight end. Now, he looks to make an impact at FAMU, reuniting with former Buchholz High School teammates, wide receiver Marcus Peterson and linebacker Jordan Smith, who were key contributors to the Rattlers’ 7-5 record in 2024.

Hill’s addition bolsters FAMU’s offensive options, providing depth and versatility at the tight end position. The Rattlers are aiming to build on their recent success as they prepare for the 2025 season.
