Former North Carolina State University forward, DJ Burns, has inked a deal with the NBA‘s Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent, following his absence from the 2024 NBA draft, sources report.

Burns, who gained prominence during the 2024 NCAA Tournament while leading the Wolfpack to the Final Four, showcased his skills on a national stage before falling to Purdue.

During his standout performances, Burns was named the tournament MVP after securing the ACC title by defeating North Carolina, marking a historic achievement for the Wolfpack.

Post the NCAA tourney, the 23-year-old intensified his preparation for the professional league, shedding weight to enhance his agility and prospects in the NBA.

Despite facing competition in the Cavaliers’ frontcourt crowded with talents like Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, Dean Wade, and Georges Niang, Burns will have the opportunity to exhibit his abilities during the NBA Summer League to attract potential suitors.
