The Dallas Cowboys have made a significant addition to their roster with the signing of former NFL first-round pick Gareon Conley, a standout cornerback with a history of success at Ohio State and in the professional ranks.

Conley, who was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, brings a wealth of experience to the Cowboys’ secondary after stints with both the Raiders and Houston Texans.

After a brief hiatus from football, Conley returned to the field with the DC Defenders of the UFL where he showcased his skills and caught the attention of the Cowboys’ coaching staff.

Heading into training camp, Conley will look to make his mark alongside standout cornerbacks Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland, and Jourdan Lewis, adding depth and competition to the position group.

With 26 career NFL starts under his belt, Conley will be vying for one of the backup spots on the Cowboys’ roster, competing with the likes of Nahshon Wright, Eric Scott Jr., and rookie Calen Carson.

During his time with the Raiders, Conley had a standout season in 2018, starting in 14 games and recording a career-high three interceptions, including a memorable 36-yard pick-six against the Cleveland Browns.
