Former Pro Bowl Tackle D.J. Humphries Cleared to Return from Torn ACL, Eyes NFL Comeback
Former Pro Bowl offensive tackle D.J. Humphries has been medically cleared to return to all football activities after recovering from a torn ACL that ended his 2023 season with the Arizona Cardinals. This clearance, reported by NFL Network on Friday, makes Humphries an attractive option for teams seeking to bolster their offensive lines as the season progresses.
Humphries, a first-round pick (24th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft, has spent his entire NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals, starting all 99 games he played for the team. However, he was released by the Cardinals in March 2024 due to cap-related reasons.
Recently, there have been reports suggesting that the Kansas City Chiefs, who are in need of another offensive tackle, might be a potential landing spot for Humphries. The Chiefs, being a contending team, could significantly benefit from his experience and skillset.
In October, Humphries visited with the New York Giants, but at this point in the season, a contending team like the Chiefs seems more likely to be his next destination.
