Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2025

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships kicks off its 2025 edition from February 24 to March 1, featuring a lineup of four former champions aiming to capture the prestigious title. Defending champion Ugo Humbert, alongside Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Roberto Bautista Agut, are set to clash on the hard courts of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

Humbert returns this year after securing the title in 2024, an exhilarating run that saw him defeat top players, including World No. 8 and 2017 champion, in the final. “The tournament was so good, I’m super happy and proud to put my name with these legends,” Humbert stated. His confidence stems from recently defending his title at the ATP 250 in Marseille, making him a formidable opponent.

Medvedev, who swept through the 2023 season with five titles, is also looking to reclaim his dominance in Dubai. He won three consecutive tournaments last February without dropping a set. “It’s unique, I don’t think I have ever won three tournaments in a row,” Medvedev expressed after his impressive run in 2023. This marks his return to Dubai as he aims to win the event for the second time in his career.

Rublev, coming off his championship win in Doha, has a strong record in Dubai. His 2022 title came during an impressive 13-match win streak. “I didn’t expect this, because I didn’t have time to adapt,” Rublev remarked, reflecting on his memorable victory. “To be honest, I have no idea how I did it.” The seventh-ranked player is keen to continue his successful form.

Bautista Agut, a two-time winner in the Middle East, talks about his initial success in Dubai in 2018. “It means a lot to win this trophy,” Bautista Agut mentioned, highlighting the significance of being on a champion’s list that features legendary players. He aims to recapture the magic of his historical 2018 win, in which he ended a 15-year streak of Grand Slam-less players winning the event.

This week, fans also have the chance to witness other top players, such as Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov, and Stefanos Tsitsipas, competing for the title. The tournament is set to capture attention with a mix of emerging talent and seasoned champions looking to add another prestigious title to their careers.

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships promises to showcase thrilling matchups and is an event fans will not want to miss as top-tier athletes battle on the courts. The action unfolds daily until the conclusion of the tournament on March 1.
