Four-Star Offensive Lineman Carde Smith Commits to Deion Sanders and Colorado
In a significant development for college football recruiting, four-star offensive lineman Carde Smith has committed to Deion Sanders and the University of Colorado. Originally from Alabama, Smith had been committed to the University of Southern California (USC) since August but made the switch to Colorado on Thanksgiving Day.
Ranked as high as the nation’s No. 13 offensive tackle, Smith stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 290 pounds. His commitment is a notable addition to Colorado’s recruiting class, especially given his previous commitment to a major program like USC.
Smith’s decision was part of a flurry of commitments to Colorado on Thanksgiving night, with three other players also joining Deion Sanders’ program. These include London Merritt, a former Ohio State defensive end commit, and two other four-star recruits from IMG Academy: Michael Carroll and Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng.
The commitments have significantly boosted Colorado’s team recruiting rankings, highlighting the impact of Deion Sanders’ leadership and recruiting prowess since his arrival at the university).
