France and the Netherlands faced off in a tightly contested match at Euro 2024, resulting in a goalless draw in Leipzig. The game marked the first 0-0 scoreline of the tournament, held in Germany.

Antoine Griezmann missed some key chances for France, while Xavi Simons saw a goal disallowed after a VAR review in this intense group stage clash.

With both teams now tied at the top of Group D with four points each, Poland becomes the first team officially eliminated from Euro 2024 after their 3-1 loss to Austria.

Kylian Mbappé, who suffered a broken nose in France’s opening match victory against Austria, watched from the sidelines as a substitute. Didier Deschamps opted not to risk Mbappé’s health in a match where a win wasn’t imperative for France.

France created their best opportunities in the second half, with Aurélien Tchouaméni missing a header, Griezmann being denied by Bart Verbruggen, and Ousmane Dembélé also squandering a good chance.

Shortly after, Xavi appeared to have given the Netherlands the lead in the 69th minute, slotting the ball home from a Memphis Depay rebound blocked by Mike Maignan. However, celebrations were cut short as Denzel Dumfries was caught offside, disallowing the goal.
