French Open Finals Set: Gauff vs. Sabalenka, Sinner vs. Alcaraz

PARIS, France — The 2025 French Open has culminated in an exciting showdown, with both men’s and women’s finals featuring the tournament’s top seeds. In the women’s final, Aryna Sabalenka will face Coco Gauff, while Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will meet in the men’s final.
Sabalenka cemented her place by defeating three-time champion Iga Swiatek in the semifinals, while Gauff triumphed over French player Lois Boisson. With a history of competitive matchups, Gauff and Sabalenka have played each other ten times, splitting their encounters evenly at five wins each. Sabalenka edged Gauff in their most recent match at last month’s Madrid Open final.
In the men’s draw, reigning champion Alcaraz advanced by defeating Lorenzo Musetti, who retired after failing to overcome a 2-1 set deficit against the Spaniard. This marks Sinner’s first appearance in a French Open final after he secured a straight-set win over Novak Djokovic. Historically, Alcaraz leads their previous encounters at Grand Slams, holding a 2-1 advantage.
Both finals will take place inside the iconic Roland Garros stadium. The women’s final is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 at 9 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s final on Sunday, June 8 at the same time.
During their press conferences, both finalists expressed excitement and determination. Gauff commented on the gravity of the upcoming final: “I just have to expect that and do my best to counter that.” Sabalenka, reflecting on her semifinal success, noted the importance of rhythm in her serving.
As the tournament reaches its climax, anticipation is building for these thrilling matches as players chase the coveted French Open trophies.
