TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State Seminoles baseball team secured a decisive 10-3 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday, moving closer to advancing in the NCAA tournament.

The win propels FSU into the final of the Tallahassee Regional. Fans expressed optimism that this could be the year the Seminoles clinch the championship, citing strong performances both on and off the field.

After the game, Braxton Varnes, who is set to join the Seminoles next season, shared his thoughts on the home-field advantage. “Being the home team here is one of the biggest advantages in college baseball because arguably you could say this is one of the best environments in college baseball. We got some of the best fans here,” Varnes said.

The victory has boosted fan confidence that FSU can return to the College World Series for a second consecutive year. “Just momentum, I mean we made an appearance last year and we saw how that ended, so I think we have what it takes to go all the way,” said Laura Shreve, a dedicated Seminoles supporter.

Shreve also emphasized the importance of the team’s resilience following the recent campus shooting on April 17. “The resilience after what happened here on campus a month ago brings the community together more. The FSU community has always been strong and a wonderful thing. But I think that adds to it a lot,” she said.

Looking ahead, FSU will face the winner of the Northeastern vs. Mississippi State matchup on Sunday at 6 p.m. One more win will advance the Seminoles to the Super Regional round.
