FuboTV Expands Sports Coverage with Chicago Sports Network Deal and New Ad Format
FuboTV, a leading live TV streaming platform, has made significant strides in enhancing its sports content offerings. On October 25, 2024, Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) announced a distribution deal with FuboTV, making CHSN available to FuboTV subscribers in the Chicago market. This partnership is part of FuboTV’s strategy to provide extensive local sports coverage, particularly for passionate Chicago fans.
The deal allows FuboTV subscribers to watch games of iconic Chicago teams such as the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago White Sox. CHSN will be included in FuboTV’s base Pro plan, which costs $79.99 per month, with a $20 discount off the first month. This move underscores FuboTV’s commitment to delivering local sports content, a key aspect of its sports-first strategy.
In addition to the CHSN deal, FuboTV has also launched a proprietary Connected TV (CTV) ad format for branded video content. This new format, known as “The Triple Play,” has already been leveraged by a major national retailer for its back-to-school campaign. This innovation highlights FuboTV’s efforts to enhance its advertising capabilities and provide more engaging content for its users.
FuboTV’s market performance has been closely watched, with the company’s stock price currently at $1.61 as of October 24, 2024. Despite a 49.4% decrease in stock price since the start of the year, FuboTV reported positive earnings per share (EPS) in its last quarter, beating consensus estimates. The company’s revenue for the quarter was $389.22 million, exceeding analyst expectations.
The company’s market capitalization stands at approximately $0.51 billion USD as of October 2024, positioning it as the world’s 6578th most valuable company by market cap.
