TS Galaxy Seek to Maintain Winning Streak Against Cape Town Spurs

TS Galaxy will be aiming to continue their form when they visit Cape Town Spurs in a DStv Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon at Athlone Stadium.

Galaxy won their fifth game in six matches in all competitions after booking their spot in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 with a 2-1 win over Golden Arrows.

The Rockets had opened the season with a 3-1 victory against the same side, thanks to goals by Thato Khiba, Lehlohonolo Mojela and Samir Nurkovic.

Sead Ramovic’s charges are lying seventh on the table, with 24 points and could leapfrog sixth-placed Kaizer Chiefs if they win.

Spurs, meanwhile, had a perfect restart to their season after thrashing AmaZulu 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Ashley Cupido and the other goal by Chumani Butsaka.

However, the Urban Warriors were bundled out of the Nedbank Cup after a 1-0 defeat to Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit University of Pretoria.

Ernst Middendorp‘s charges are still rock bottom on the log with 13 points, seven points from safety.

Galaxy are chasing a league double over Spurs after edging them 1-0 in the reverse courtesy of an own goal by Cohen Stander four minutes before time.
