OU Gaming Club Announces Sooner Dojo Series for Fall 2024 College Football Season
The University of Oklahoma (OU) Gaming Club is proud to announce the Sooner Dojo Series, set to commence in Fall 2024, coinciding with the college football season. This series aims to enhance the fan experience for home game weekends through a pay-to-enter, fan-based tournament.
Beginning on the weekend of the Tulane game on September 14, participants are invited to compete in a series of matches. The initial entry fees for this weekend are established at $5 for venue costs and an additional $5 for the bracket prize pot. Following this weekend, starting from the Tennessee game on September 20, the entry fee will rise to $10 each for the venue and the bracket prize.
The tournaments are designed primarily for OU students and fans prior to the Tennessee game, but from that point onward, marketing efforts will expand significantly. The goal is to facilitate contests that engage OU versus guest brackets, allowing fans to demonstrate their competitive spirit before the upcoming college football games.
Competitions will be hosted at designated venues, with potential enhancements in production as the series progresses. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their gameplay, benefiting from a full esports treatment.
Age restrictions for participation are set at 13 years and above, while all ages are welcome to observe the events. Payment will be accepted in cash and all major credit cards, with the possibility of additional pot bonuses provided by sponsors.
For additional information, including rules and event types, participants are encouraged to visit the OU Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation website. Interested individuals should also be attentive to marketing updates from the OU Gaming Club to stay informed about any changes during the series.
