Gas Prices Newfoundland And Labrador March 2025

ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland and Labrador — Gas prices across Newfoundland and Labrador saw a decline for the second consecutive week, reflecting adjustments by the Public Utilities Board. As of Thursday, March 6, 2025, gas prices decreased between 0.1 and 1.3 cents per litre, depending on the region.

The largest drop of 1.3 cents per litre affected Churchill Falls and Labrador West. Regions like Bell Island experienced a minimal decrease of 0.1 cents, while the Connaigre Peninsula and Rencontre East saw reductions of one cent.

These adjustments are attributed to zone differential increases across Newfoundland’s pricing regions, which are influenced by market fluctuations, according to the latest news release from the Public Utilities Board. A further price adjustment is anticipated on March 13.

For customers on the Avalon Peninsula, the maximum price now stands at $1.70 per litre. Meanwhile, retail prices across other areas in Newfoundland range between $1.71 and $1.85, while options in Labrador vary from $1.73 to $2.16 per litre.

In addition to gasoline, the price of diesel also decreased, dropping between 1.1 and 2.2 cents in Newfoundland and by 2.2 cents in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. Current diesel prices range from $2.00 to $2.12 per litre in Newfoundland and $1.81 to $2.25 per litre in Labrador.

Furnace oil saw a decrease of 0.9 to 1.9 cents per litre, leading to maximum prices ranging from $1.32 to $1.51 per litre based on location. Stove oil prices also dropped, with a decrease of over 1.7 cents per litre noted in Labrador West and Churchill Falls, bringing prices between $1.20 and $1.69 per litre in Labrador.

Propane was the only fuel type to see an increase in price, rising by 1.6 cents per litre. Current maximum prices for propane now range between $1.18 and $1.33 in Newfoundland and $1.01 to $1.46 in Labrador.

These adjustments are part of ongoing monitoring and regulation by the Pubic Utilities Board, with consumers advised to stay informed about price changes in their specific areas.
