George Kittle and Deebo Samuel Active for 49ers in Crucial Game Against Cowboys
The San Francisco 49ers received positive news on the injury front ahead of their Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys. Tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Deebo Samuel, both of whom were listed as questionable, were declared active for the game.
Kittle had been dealing with a foot injury, while Samuel was recovering from pneumonia. Despite missing Wednesday’s practice and being limited on Thursday and Friday, both players participated in pregame workouts and were cleared to play.
In addition to Kittle and Samuel, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, who was also questionable due to an illness, was also active for the game. The 49ers did, however, have several players listed as inactive, including QB Joshua Dobbs, WR Jauan Jennings, DL Kevin Givens, K Jake Moody, LB Jalen Graham, CB Rock Ya-Sin, and OL Ben Bartch.
The game saw significant contributions from Kittle, who played a pivotal role in the 49ers’ offense. He caught a short pass from quarterback Brock Purdy and ran 43 yards to set up a touchdown by rookie running back Isaac Guerendo, marking Guerendo’s first career touchdown. Kittle also scored a 2-yard touchdown pass from Purdy in the third quarter, extending the 49ers’ lead to 20-10.
Kittle’s performance was particularly notable, as it came on National Tight Ends Day, a day he is often credited with founding. His touchdown was his sixth receiving touchdown of the season, tying for the second-most in his career.
