No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs Face Struggling Charlotte in Key Matchup
ATHENS, Georgia — The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs are set to take on the Charlotte 49ers in a Week 13 college football matchup this Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET from Sanford Stadium. Georgia, boasting a 9-1 overall record and a strong 7-1 in the SEC, aims to secure a spot in the upcoming College Football Playoff with a victory against the struggling 1-9 49ers, who have yet to defeat a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team this season.
Georgia has enjoyed tremendous success during its current senior class, having won two SEC championships and a national title while compiling a 48-5 record. The Bulldogs are favored by 43.5 points in this contest, reflecting the disparity in performance between the two teams.
“We’re looking forward to this week as we prep. It’s always a special day when these seniors have their last home game. It’s a great tradition,” said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. “We’ll begin the prep for Charlotte today and focus on getting better.”
The national broadcast of the game will air on the SEC Network. Radio commentators Taylor Zarzour and Matt Stinchcomb, along with sideline reporter Alyssa Lang, will cover the action live. Streaming will also be available via the WatchESPN app, which offers a free trial for new subscribers.
Georgia is not focused on running up the score against lesser opponents, and the team plans to utilize more senior players in this game. The Bulldogs are determined to build depth ahead of their upcoming contest against a ranked opponent on Black Friday.
“We’re just focused on Charlotte right now. It’s important to get better every week,” Smart emphasized when discussing the team’s approach to the challenge ahead.
As the game approaches, excitement builds among both players and fans. However, with the stakes high, the Bulldogs are adamant about staying healthy and executing their game plan effectively.
The matchup represents a critical moment for Georgia as they aim to maintain momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. With a win, the Bulldogs will edge closer to securing their playoff berth.
