Carson Beck Georgia Bulldogs Quarterback 2023

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, multiple sources confirmed to On3. The two-time national champion, who recently announced his plans to declare for the NFL Draft, has reversed course and will instead explore college football’s free agency for the 2025 season. Beck, a former four-star recruit, is recovering from surgery after suffering a season-ending injury during the SEC Championship game.

Beck, who led Georgia to an 11-3 record and its second SEC title since 2022, threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions during the 2024 season. Despite his struggles in key games, including three interceptions in three separate matchups, Beck remains one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the transfer portal. He holds Georgia’s single-season completion percentage record and has amassed 7,912 passing yards and 58 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

The Jacksonville native missed the second half of the SEC Championship game against Texas and was unavailable for Georgia’s College Football Playoff run, including the Allstate Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. Beck recently underwent surgery to repair his arm and is now in recovery and training mode, preparing for his final year of eligibility.

Beck’s decision to enter the transfer portal has sparked speculation about his next destination. Rumors suggest he may transfer to Miami (FL), where his girlfriend currently resides. If he chooses Miami, Beck would join a quarterback-needy program looking to rebuild its roster for the 2025 season.

The transfer portal has become a critical tool for players seeking new opportunities, and Beck’s entry is expected to draw significant attention. With one year of eligibility remaining, he is poised to become one of the highest-paid transfers in college football history.
