ATLANTA, Georgia — Malachi Hosley delivered an outstanding performance for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets during their game against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday. The running back rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown on just 11 carries, averaging an impressive 11.7 yards per carry. His standout play included a 36-yard run that showcased his remarkable speed and balance.

Early in the game, Hosley helped set the tone with a 20-yard rush during Georgia Tech’s opening possession. His contributions on the field were crucial in helping the Yellow Jackets secure their sixth straight win this season, pushing their record to 6-0. The team is now bowl eligible and looks to maintain their momentum as they prepare for a matchup against Duke next week.

Head coach Brent Key praised Hosley’s performance, noting how valuable he has been since transferring to the team. “We knew he was a good football player when we brought him in. He’s got great balance and vision,” Key commented. His teammate, Haynes King, also acknowledged Hosley’s impact, describing him as a great locker room presence and emphasizing how his explosiveness makes the offense more effective.

Hosley credited his running backs coach, Norval McKenzie, for his preparation leading up to the game. “Our preparation this week helped us understand the fronts and combos, it made a big difference for me tonight,” he said. Hosley is now totaling 384 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season, positioning him as a key player in Georgia Tech’s offensive strategy.

Looking ahead, the Yellow Jackets face the Duke Blue Devils in their next game, aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak in the ACC. If they continue to showcase strong performances from players like Hosley, they could remain a formidable contender in the conference.
