Germany France Uefa Nations League Soccer Match

Stuttgart, Germany – Germany will face France in the UEFA Nations League third-place match on June 8, 2025, at MHP Arena after both teams lost in the semifinals.

Germany fell to Portugal 2-1, despite a goal from Florian Wirtz. They had taken a 1-0 lead before Portugal equalized and then scored the winner through Cristiano Ronaldo.

France, on the other hand, suffered a dramatic 5-4 defeat against Spain in the other semifinal. Despite a late comeback attempt, they couldn’t find the equalizer after trailing by four goals.

Germany and France have met a total of 34 times since their first match in 1931, with Germany winning 12, drawing 7, and losing 15. Both teams aim to secure bronze in this prestigious European tournament.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann is expected to make adjustments to Germany’s lineup after their semi-final loss. Young forward Nick Woltemade is likely to retain his place following a solid debut performance against Portugal.

“There will be a few changes,” Nagelsmann said during a press conference. “We need to be better and more aggressive in possession than we were against Portugal.”

France’s coach Didier Deschamps is also contemplating lineup changes after the tough semifinal showing. Following his impressive play, Rayan Cherki could be promoted to the starting eleven, while they’ll need to address defensive gaps exposed by Spain.

“We have the opportunity to make adjustments,” Deschamps mentioned ahead of the match. “It’s essential to come back strong after such a defeat. The players are motivated to give their all.”

The match kicks off at 6 a.m. MST (9 a.m. Eastern) and can be streamed on FUBO. Both teams will be eager to finish on a high note in this season’s Nations League.
