The much-anticipated Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are just around the corner, set to commence with a grand opening ceremony on July 26. This global sporting event will unfold in the beautiful city of Paris, France, and run until August 11, attracting around 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees.

This year’s Olympics feature a total of 32 sports, including the traditional favorites and four new additions: breaking (or breakdancing), skateboarding, surfing, and sport climbing. It’s exciting to note that breaking will make its debut as an Olympic sport!

While the opening ceremony takes place on July 26, some competitions will kick off even earlier. Football and rugby sevens are set to start on July 24, followed by archery and handball on July 25, leading into the full-fledged events beginning on July 27.

India will be sending a strong contingent of 117 athletes to compete at the Olympics, with 70 male and 47 female participants. They will begin their Olympic journey on July 25 with the individual ranking rounds in archery, while their last competition is scheduled for August 11 in wrestling.
