San Francisco Giants Vs Milwaukee Brewers Baseball

San Francisco, CA — The San Francisco Giants will host the Milwaukee Brewers starting Monday in a crucial four-game series at Oracle Park, beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET. Both teams are vying for playoff positions early in the 2025 MLB season, with the Giants holding third place in the crowded NL West and the Brewers pursuing a tighter lead in the Central Division.

The Giants (14-8) are coming off a solid start this season, while the Brewers (12-10) are looking to build on a recent surge. Milwaukee arrives in California having won four of their last five games, allowing only eight runs during that span. On Sunday, they scored 14 runs against the Oakland Athletics, highlighted by Rhys Hoskins’ four RBIs and Brice Turang’s three stolen bases.

“Whether it’s through aggressive baserunning or timely hitting, we’ve found ways to score,” said Brewers manager Pat Murphy. “We’re trying to keep the momentum going.”

The Brewers lead the league in stolen bases, which helps compensate for their average on-base percentage and slugging totals. Turang, who is just 25 years old, leads MLB with 27 runs scored this season, while 21-year-old Jackson Chourio is quickly making a name for himself across the league.

On the opposing side, the Giants counter with their own dynamic young talent, including speedster Tyler Fitzgerald, who has five steals in his first 70 plate appearances, and slugger Jung Hoo Lee, who leads baseball in doubles and ranks in the top five for offensive WAR according to Baseball Reference.

Pitching will be pivotal during this four-game series. The Giants will send former Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray to the mound on Monday, who is looking to bounce back after a challenging outing against the Phillies where he allowed four earned runs in just four innings. His performances have seen him struggle with control, boasting four or more walks in three of his four starts.

On Wednesday, Giants ace Logan Webb will face off against Brewers starter Freddy Peralta, who holds a strong 1.91 ERA. Webb comes off a remarkable performance in Anaheim where he struck out 12 batters.

“So much of this era of Brewers baseball has been defined by solid relief pitching, and we’re adapting,” said Johnny Flores Jr., a local sports analyst. “But the early signs show inconsistency in our bullpen, which we must rectify if we’re to stay competitive.”

As the teams prepare for the series, statistics show several players to watch. Jung Hoo Lee, for example, is drawing comparisons to legendary hitters, with analysts noting that “Babe Ruth put up 119 extra-base hits in 1921. After his performance in the Bronx, Jung Hoo Lee was on pace for 139. It feels unsustainable, but Giants fans are focused on victory now.”

The Giants will look to take advantage of home field while the Brewers aim to continue their offensive momentum. As the playoff race heats up, every game counts as teams battle for position in the tightly contested National League.
