New York Giants Quarterback Options 2025

INDIANAPOLIS — General manager Joe Schoen confirmed that the New York Giants are prioritizing the quarterback position as they prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.

With the new league year starting on March 12 and the Giants holding the No. 3 overall pick, Schoen acknowledged the team’s pressing needs at the quarterback position, especially with only one QB currently under contract.

“We’ve got to be better. We were a three-win team,” Schoen said during the NFL Scouting Combine, adding that the team is in a good financial position with approximately $48 million in cap space. “We have premium draft capital. We’re in good shape to improve the roster.”

The Giants are likely to explore various options, including drafting a quarterback, pursuing veterans, or even trading up in the first round to secure a top prospect.

While the incoming draft class lacks the immediate star power of previous years, Schoen stated he and his team had done significant work on the top quarterback prospects, such as Miami‘s Tyler Van Dyke and Colorado‘s Shedeur Sanders. “We don’t know who’s going to be there. We’re looking at all avenues,” he mentioned.

When asked about the potential availability of other quarterbacks, Schoen remarked, “That’s a question for the Rams,” hinting at a possible interest in current players around the league.

Ultimately, the Giants are at a crossroads, needing to find a franchise quarterback who can lead them into the future while improving the overall performance of the team. “The play has to be better than what it’s been. We played four quarterbacks this year. We need one guy out there that can give us the best chance to win games,” Schoen stated, echoing the sentiments of a fan base eager for stability at the position.
