Giants Overcome Brewers 4-2 Behind Strong Pitching Performance

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Giants secured a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday night, thanks to a strong pitching performance and key hitting.
Giants closer Camilo Doval earned the save after entering the game in the ninth inning with two outs. He struck out a batter and threw all five of his pitches for strikes, marking his fourth save of the season.
Earlier in the inning, Ryan Walker, who started the ninth, struggled and allowed two runs on three hits before being replaced. Walker’s performance added pressure, but Doval was able to maintain the team’s lead.
Giants starter Logan Webb delivered another impressive outing, pitching 6 1/3 scoreless innings. Webb, now 3-1, struck out six batters while allowing only three walks, lowering his ERA to 1.98. He faced challenges throughout the game but managed to keep the Brewers from scoring.
The Giants offense broke through in the sixth inning. Wilmer Flores hit a two-run single that glanced off Brewers shortstop Willy Adames, helping the Giants pull ahead. Michael Conforto added to the lead with an infield single that scored Flores.
Despite being held scoreless for the first five innings by Brewers starter Freddy Peralta, the Giants capitalized on their opportunities. Peralta ended the night allowing five hits and three runs over five innings.
A critical moment came when Giants right fielder Conforto made a strong one-hop throw to third base, catching a Brewers player attempting to advance from first to third.
The win improved the Giants’ record against right-handed starters to 14-2 this season, the best in Major League Baseball.
Looking ahead, Giants right-hander Landon Roupp is set to start in the series finale Thursday against Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers, who is making his first start of the year after recovering from a strained left oblique.
