Giants Rally for Dramatic Win Against Rockies at Coors Field

DENVER, Colorado — The San Francisco Giants defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-5 on Tuesday night at Coors Field, marking their sixth consecutive win. The Giants scored four runs in the ninth inning, overcoming a 5-2 deficit to steal the game from the Rockies, who have now lost four straight.
Mike Yastrzemski delivered the decisive hit with a single that put the Giants ahead after Colorado took a late lead. San Francisco’s Casey Schmitt and Yastrzemski both contributed to a massive ninth inning, with Schmitt hitting a home run that ignited the rally.
Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison had faced some struggles earlier in the game but managed to keep his team in contention. Harrison entered the matchup with a 4.34 ERA and recorded a tough outing that included allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out three batters in just over four innings.
His counterpart, Rockies pitcher Carson Palmquist, also struggled, with an 8.50 ERA and allowing four runs in four innings of work. Colorado led 5-2 at one point but couldn’t hold on as their bullpen faltered in the final frame.
Despite the loss, Colorado’s offensive highlights included Willy Adames‘ early performance, which saw him homer to center field and contribute to some scoring. However, their overall record now stands at 12-54, one of the worst in Major League Baseball.
On the other hand, the Giants improved to 39-28 and sit just half a game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. They aim to continue this momentum in the next game, which is set for Wednesday evening.
Robbie Ray (8-1, 2.44 ERA) is expected to start for the Giants in the next game, while the Rockies will counter with Kyle Freeland (1-8, 5.19 ERA).
