New York Giants Defensive Tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter

East Rutherford, N.J. — The New York Giants have bolstered their defensive line by signing defensive tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter to a one-year contract worth $1.775 million, with incentives that can push the total value beyond $2 million. The deal was reported on March 14, 2025, by Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Ledbetter, who has spent the last three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, has had a somewhat tumultuous career in the NFL. Although he made only one appearance in the 2022 season, he played in 32 games over the past two years, recording a total of 62 tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery, and a pass defended.

In addition to his time with the Jaguars, Ledbetter has had stints with the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His versatility and experience are expected to enhance the Giants’ defensive capabilities as they head into the upcoming season.

“Jeremiah is a player who brings depth and experience to our defensive line,” said Giants General Manager Joe Schoen. “His ability to disrupt plays fits well with what we are looking to achieve defensively.”

Earlier this week, the Giants also signed defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris, further demonstrating their commitment to strengthening their front seven.

Meanwhile, the Giants are not stopping at just the defensive side of the ball. Reports also indicate that the team has agreed to a contract with offensive lineman Stone Forsythe, pending a physical examination. Forsythe, a 6-foot-8, 307-pound lineman, has played in 53 games and made 14 starts during his four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, including a postseason appearance.

The sixth-round draft pick from 2021 had a notable season in 2023, starting a career-high eight games, primarily at right tackle, after stepping in for an injured George Fant at the start of the 2024 season.

Before entering the NFL, Forsythe played 40 games at the University of Florida, starting 28 of them. His versatility was apparent as he played both guard and tackle, contributing to the team’s success in passing yards per game during the 2020 season.

As the Giants continue to make moves during the 2025 offseason, fans will be monitoring the impact of such acquisitions. The team’s efforts to build a competitive roster come as they aim for a strong performance next season.
