Giants Sign Safety Jevon Holland to Major Free Agency Deal

New York, NY — The New York Giants bolstered their defense Tuesday by signing safety Jevon Holland to a lucrative three-year contract valued at $45.3 million, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal, which could escalate to $46.8 million, includes $30.3 million in guaranteed money.
Holland, who has started consistently for the Miami Dolphins over the past four years, is the fourth defensive player the Giants have acquired in free agency this week. This influx of talent comes as part of the Giants’ strategy to enhance their defensive lineup following a disappointing 2024 season.
The Giants made headlines on Monday by reportedly agreeing to terms with multiple defensive players, including a cornerback and several defensive linemen, signaling a clear intent to strengthen their defensive capabilities. Holland, 25, will team up with second-year safety Tyreke Nubin, who was the Giants’ second-round selection in 2023 and led the team with 98 tackles last season.
Despite high expectations, Holland’s performance in 2024 did not meet his potential; he finished the season with no interceptions and a career-low 62 tackles. However, his earlier career tells a different story. After being drafted in the second round in 2021, Holland made an immediate impact by starting 13 games in his rookie season and often blitzing as a key part of the Dolphins’ defense under former coordinator Josh Boyer.
Named a team captain the following year, Holland made history as the youngest captain in Dolphins’ franchise history. He built on his inaugural season performances, recording 96 tackles in 2022 and participating in 74 tackles in 2023. Over four seasons, Holland has accumulated five interceptions, five forced fumbles, and 301 tackles, underscoring his potential impact for the Giants.
ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques contributed to this report, noting that the Giants aim to turn their defensive fortunes around after a lackluster season.
