New York Giants Zach Pascal Signing

East Rutherford, N.J. — The New York Giants have reportedly agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Zach Pascal, pending a physical, as part of their efforts to enhance their offensive roster ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

According to NFL Insider Mike Garafolo, Pascal, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 215 pounds, will join the Giants after spending the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Over his seven-year career, Pascal has played in 112 regular-season games, recording 169 receptions for 2,057 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Pascal’s journey in the NFL began as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Commanders in 2017. His initial rookie season was spent with the Tennessee Titans before moving on to the Indianapolis Colts, where he played from 2018 to 2021. During his time with the Colts, he crossed paths with current Giants receivers coach Mike Groh, who served in Indianapolis during Pascal’s successful campaigns in 2019 and 2020, where he recorded over 600 receiving yards and averaged five touchdowns each year.

After a season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Pascal appeared in every game for Arizona in 2024, though he only saw action on offensive plays for 68 snaps without being targeted. His experience on special teams has increased over the years, culminating in a career-high 278 snaps in 2024.

The Giants’ acquisition of Pascal adds depth to their wide receiver lineup, which already includes Darius Slayton, who recently signed a three-year contract extension, and 2023 third-round pick Jalin Hyatt. The Giants are looking to augment their offense as they await a decision on their starting quarterback situation.

Hyatt, the 2022 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner, has been under pressure to perform after recording disappointing statistics last season. He caught eight passes for only 62 yards and has not yet reached the end zone in his two years with the Giants.

With a crowded receiver room, there are speculations about a potential trade involving Hyatt during the upcoming NFL Draft, especially with the Titans, who hold the first overall pick, looking to bolster their own receiving corps.

Pascal’s signing follows the addition of another veteran receiver, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, as the Giants focus on upgrading their offensive options. The team has primarily concentrated its free agency spending on defensive players, including cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland, while primarily seeking depth on the offensive side.

As the Giants continue to navigate this critical offseason period, their moves in free agency could redefine their roster dynamics heading into the 2025 NFL season.
