Tyrone Tracy Jr. Running Back New York Giants

DENVER — After a slow start to his rookie season, New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. hopes to bounce back against the Denver Broncos this Sunday. Tracy’s first four games were uneventful, where he managed only 12 rushing attempts for 29 yards.

But a significant change occurred when he stepped in for an injured Devin Singletary. In a game against Seattle, Tracy rushed for 129 yards on 18 attempts, finishing his rookie year with a team-high 839 rushing yards. Now, he’s looking to rekindle that success this season.

This year, Tracy has struggled, tallying just 26 rushing attempts and 74 yards across four games. He missed two games due to a partially dislocated shoulder, and his return was less impactful, as he registered only four carries for six yards in his last appearance.

“When you have a shoulder dislocation, coming back has to be slow just because you really don’t know what’s going to happen,” Tracy said. Wearing a protective harness to safeguard his shoulder, he acknowledged feeling some rust from his time off. “I want to get back in my groove,” he added.

Although he faced limitations against the Eagles, Tracy is optimistic about contributing more against the Broncos. “If I’m out there, I’m gonna be myself, 100 percent. I’m never gonna go out there 50 percent, that’s just not in my nature,” he stated.

The Giants will also be without their top wide receiver, Darius Slayton, who is sidelined with a strained hamstring, along with several injured defensive players. Offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo is absent for personal reasons, with assistant coach James Ferentz stepping in.

On the field, the Broncos enter the matchup with an NFL-high 30 sacks this season, tying them with the 2013 Chiefs for the most sacks in the first six games since 1990. Linebacker Nik Bonitto leads the league with eight sacks.

In a fitting tribute, the Broncos will commemorate the 10th anniversary of their Super Bowl 50 victory, unveiling a pillar for late wide receiver Demaryius Thomas in the Ring of Fame Plaza.
