Golden Knights Vs Sabres Hockey Game Keybank Center

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Vegas Golden Knights (39-19-7) look to secure back-to-back wins as they take on the Buffalo Sabres (25-33-6) Saturday at 9:30 a.m. PT at KeyBank Center.

The Knights are coming off a 4-0 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets, a performance that showcased their depth with four different players scoring goals. “It feels great to build momentum before hitting the road again,” said Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy following the win.

In that victory, goaltender Adin Hill recorded his fourth shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots. He also recently signed a six-year contract extension, keeping him with the team through the 2030-31 season. Hill has been solid this season, boasting a 24-11-4 record and a .906 save percentage over 39 games.

Star center Jack Eichel added another milestone to his name by reaching 79 points this season, breaking the franchise record for points in a single season established by William Karlsson. Eichel is on a seven-game point streak and looks to extend it Saturday.

Pavel Dorofeyev is also making a mark, as he leads the team with 16 road goals this season and has found the net in both games of the current road trip.

This game represents the ninth back-to-back set for the Golden Knights this season. They currently hold a 5-3-0 record in the second game of back-to-backs.

The Sabres are struggling, now sitting in last place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 25-33-6. They have only managed one win in March, which came against the Edmonton Oilers earlier this month. Buffalo fell 7-3 against the Detroit Red Wings in their last outing.

Tage Thompson leads the Sabres in scoring with 58 points, closely followed by JJ Peterka and Rasmus Dahlin, both contributing significant offensive numbers as the team seeks a turnaround.

Vegas won the only other matchup against Buffalo this season, which took place on January 4, where they claimed a 3-1 victory. Tanner Laczynski, in his first game with the team, scored the opening goal in that game.

For the Golden Knights, a victory would mark the 352nd win in the franchise’s history, improve their all-time record against the Sabres to 8-6-0, and elevate their road record to 16-12-4 this season.

As the playoffs approach, both teams are in search of consistency; Vegas is currently positioned well in the Pacific Division, while Buffalo is eager to salvage what remains of their season.

With the game fast approaching, Eichel emphasizes the importance of staying calm. “We have to keep our composure, especially against teams that are fighting for wins,” he said.
